Dr Edwina Lamrock
B Med (Hons) FACD

Dr Edwina Lamrock is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).

Dr Lamrock is passionate about excellence in clinical practice and is renowned for her expert individualised care. She is dedicated to education and training, and is a Visiting Medical Officer at John Hunter Hospital, where she is a Clinical Supervisor of dermatology registrars, and involved in educating registrars, General Practitioners and medical students.

Dr Lamrock obtained her medical degree at Newcastle University, where she graduated with Distinction, and was awarded the Faculty of Health Medal and the Andrew Lojszczyk Prize for the highest overall ability in clinical performance in surgery.

Dr Lamrock undertook her specialist dermatology training at Royal North Shore, Liverpool, Orange Base and John Hunter hospitals. She has presented at the Austrian Society for Dermatology and Venereology and Australasian College of Dermatology conferences and has published articles in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology.

Dr Lamrock is trained in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology and has particular interest in acne, psoriasis, eczema, hyperhidrosis and autoimmune connective tissues diseases.

Dr Lamrock consults at Frontier on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Alicia Thornton
BSc MBBS (Hons) FACD

Dr Alicia Thornton is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).  

Dr Thornton is known for her personable manner and thorough approach to each patient. She was drawn to dermatology because of her passion for skin health for all ages from babies through to adults, and her interest in both surgical and medical specialties. She enjoys tailoring effective individualised treatment solutions and seeing the positive physical, social and psychological benefits for her patients.

Dr Thornton completed a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biological Anthropology prior to her medical degree at the Australian National University. She was awarded a university medal and the Graham Wilkinson prize for best medical student due to her commitment to rural health, education and student welfare, as well as academic success. Dr Thornton completed her postgraduate training in Tamworth followed by appointments at Canberra Hospital and John Hunter Hospital as well as overseas voluntary work in Tonga, Samoa and West Africa. She has published research papers in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology, and continues to supervise research in the areas of atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa and psoriasis.

Dr Thornton is committed to training the next generation of dermatologists and providing public hospital dermatology services as a Visiting Medical Officer at John Hunter Hospital and John Hunter Children’s Hospital, where she supervises general dermatology and paediatric dermatology clinics. She is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, and provides education for both medical students, training doctors and general practitioners.

Dr Thomas Barrett
B Econ B Med FACD

Dr Barrett is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists (FACD).

Dr Barrett completed his medical training at the University of Newcastle following undergraduate studies in economics, and continued his prevocational training within Hunter New England Health. Throughout his dermatology training Dr Barrett has worked at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, Westmead Children’s Hospital, and the Royal Newcastle Centre. He has completed rural rotations throughout NSW including Lismore, Port Macquarie, Walgett, Dubbo, Orange and with the Aboriginal Medical Service.

Dr Barrett is actively engaged in research, having had multiple papers published in domestic and international dermatology journals, and continues to be involved in the education of junior doctors and dermatology trainees through his work at the John Hunter Hospital, where he works as a Visiting Medical Officer.

Dr Barrett manages all conditions involving the skin, hair and nails including eczema, psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa, hyperhidrosis, acne, and paediatric dermatology. He has a special interest in skin cancer management, autoimmune bullous disease, cutaneous lymphomas and has completed further sub-specialty training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery.  

Dr Barrett consults at Frontier on Fridays.
